I tried to steady my breathing and rolled over to look at my clock. 6:30 AM. Okay, Alison. Get up and face another day. I picked myself out of bed and looked at my frame in the mirror. People always said I was too thin. How could they even say that? I looked at myself and saw only a fat blob of ugliness. I sighed and pulled a baggy Nirvana sweatshirt over my jeans.

Legends Never Die-- PrologueI was swimming in shadows, the all too consuming blackness circled around me.

"My name is Alison," I repeated softly under my breath, dying to keep my insanity from taking over. I begged for a light, a way out.

I was falling swiftly through the darkness yet never felt my body brake from hitting the ground with a thud. I imagined the lifeless form that would be me when I hit the ground.

My hair flew in my face, causing me to choke and gasp for air. I wish I could see, then I could push away my long, sandy blonde hair. I uncrossed my arms from my chest and my body was helplessly falling like a rag doll. I screamed until my lungs burned.

I was feeling all alone
Kept hiding in the dark
My wounds were fresh and bleeding
I knew in my heart that no one cared
I forced all my smiles
Until someone made them true
